Angling – Fishing Tackle Assistant

This is a full-time position and would include most weekends. Generally, between the hours of 8am – 5pm and 9am – 4.30pm on Sundays.

 

The salary / wage would depend on the level of experience within a similar role or on knowledge of fishing and all things related to fishing tackle. A broad spectrum of knowledge in all methods of angling would be ideal.

The main duty would be advising customers on their fishing equipment, this will be for customers looking for carp, coarse, game or sea fishing tackle. Customers may also seek advice on fishing locations locally and techniques that may help them!

Other duties include helping with the ordering of products, use of the till, shop tidiness and maintenance, promotions and activities (online and events).

Key Responsibilities

1. To keep the site tidy and well kept at all times.

2. To ensure good Health and Safety practice is maintained for both staff and customers;

3. Assisting managers and department supervisors to ensure all departments are  maintained to a high standard.

4. To be able to work within other departments if required by the General Manager or Company Directors;

5. To be flexible within opening hours, fulfilling tasks even if the hours are out of the regular shift pattern.

6. To work with colleagues to successfully prepare for and manage any events occurring at the site;

7. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Yard Sales

Launceston Store

This is a full-time position and would include Weekends  between the hours of 8am – 5pm and 9am – 4.30pm on Sundays.

 

The salary / wage would depend on the level of experience within a similar role.

 

No formal qualifications are required although maybe beneficial. You will require a full valid UK driving license.

A fork lift certificate would also be beneficial.

This position is available due to a member of the team retiring after many years of service.

You will be assisting in the yard where we sell garden buildings, fencing, paving slabs, pots and other ‘hard landscaping’ products. You will need to advise customers on their purchases and talk through the various options available to them.

You will be required to use a till and assist other departments on occasion.

Assisting people to their vehicle with their goods is regularly required. (PLEASE NOTE: This job does entail heavy lifting)
