PLANT THESE TO ENCOURAGE THE BEES

Spring flowers provide much needed food for insects and choosing bulbs that will produce flowers that are rich in both nectar and pollen will be essential for the first emerging insects. You will be creating delightful and pretty displays for yourself as well!

We have a wonderful selection to choose from at Homeleigh, ready to plant this autumn and enjoy early next year.

Most bulbs prefer a sunny/lightly shaded well-drained site but if your bulbs are going into a container use bulb fibre with a little grit to help drainage. Plant bulbs at least 2 to 3 times their own depth, so for example a bulb measuring 2 inches needs a hole dug 4 – 6 inches deep.

Place the bulb with the shoot facing upwards and space at least twice the bulb’s width apart. Replace the soil and gently firm with the back of a rake.
