General planting  for fruit trees we would recommend the following:

  1. Dig a hole twice the size of the pot.
  2. Mix good quality compost (Levington’s Rose, tree and shrub compost £5.49 50 litre, also available as  3 for 2 offer) with the garden soil and Bonemeal
  3. Remove tree from the pot, rub Mycorrhizal fungi (use Root Grow) on to the roots and around the planting hole.
  4. Place tree into the hole so it’s level with the surface, use a stake and tree ties to secure your tree. Various sizes of stakes and canes available.
  5. Backfill with your well mixed compost and firm in, water well.
  6. Add a thick layer of mulch around your newly planted tree (ensuring it doesn’t it doesn’t cover the stem). We would recommend using a well rotted manure, we stock Levingtons Blended farmyard manure 50 litre £3.99.
