Sales & Yard – Supervisor

Bude Store

This is a full-time position and would include some weekends. Generally, between the hours of 8am – 5pm and 9am – 4.30pm on Sundays.

 

The salary / wage would depend on the level of experience within a similar role.

 

No formal qualifications are required although maybe beneficial.

You will be the Department Supervisor responsible for overseeing day to day operation and sales within the department. You will require a full detailed working knowledge of retail operations, sales and customer care. As a sales person, you will ensure the customers are receiving a high level of customer service and possible sales targets are met while working alongside the branch manager and the Homeleigh team. You will be responsible for merchandising areas throughout the department and be flexible in assisting other departments.

Main Duties

  • Maintaining the sales area and assisting other areas.
  • Ensure sales targets are reached whilst maximising profitability and commercial opportunities;
  • Dealing with customer service issues;
  • Merchandising of stock
  • Following instruction for the branch manager.
  • Assisting customers with items.
  • Leading a team to achieve all of the goals set out by the manager and directors.

Key Responsibilities

1. To build long-term and productive relationship with customers whilst generating revenue;

2. To ensure good Health and Safety practice is maintained for both staff and customers;

3. Merchandising goods throughout the department (whilst assisting other departments when required);

4. To be able to work within other departments if required by the General Manager or Company Directors;

5. To be flexible within opening hours, fulfilling spaces within the rota ensuring appropriate staff numbers are maintained to the standard expected;

6. To work with colleagues to successfully prepare for and manage any events occurring at the site;

7. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

8. Liaising to the branch manager and informing them of slow selling, fast selling or low stock items.

9. Preparing and writing delivery notes, sales invoices and other relevant customer related documents. The use of the till and epos system will also be required.

10. Attending team meetings when required.

Maintenance Person

Launceston, Bude & Crediton Store

This is a full-time position and would include Saturdays. The days to work would be Monday – Friday  between the hours of 8am – 5pm.

 

The salary / wage would depend on the level of experience within a similar role.

 

No formal qualifications are required although maybe beneficial. You will require a full valid UK driving license.

A good standard of DIY is essential. Carpentry, Mechanical, Plumbing, Building and Welding skills are all beneficial but not essential. A fork lift certificate would also be beneficial.

You will be assisting ALL departments with their day to day maintenance. This would also include working between the three different sites (please note a work vehicle would be supplied to cover travel between sites.) The job would be very varied and you should be able to adapt to suite the task in hand. Experience within a similar role would be very beneficial. There would be a lot of general DIY, gardening and other similar tasks involved.

(PLEASE NOTE: This job does entail heavy lifting)

Foodhall – General Assistant

This would be on a full time basis and include some weekends. Monday to Saturday 8am – 5pm and Sunday 9am – 4:30pm

The salary / wage would depend on the level of experience within a similar role.

 

No formal qualifications are required although maybe beneficial. Experience within the food retail or grocery store industry would be very beneficial.

Working in the Homeleigh Food hall you will be asked to fulfill duties such as maintaining and merchandising the shop area. Keeping a close eye on and refreshing produce as and when necessary. Helping customers with their shopping and advising them when necessary. Assisting in the prep of food in the mornings and maintaining a clean work space.

There would also be till work and general cleaning within the department to help maintain standards.

This would also include assisting the Restaurant manager with creating new menu options and updating any daily specials. Some ordering of stock maybe required. You would need to maintain a clean and tidy kitchen throughout service and assist with the daily checks to ensure all health and safety measures are met.
